Gifts from home

I really love giving gifts.
I think that the best time to give a gift is when there is no real reason or occasion and one of my favorite times to give gifts is after traveling or being away.

“It’s not how much we give but how much love we put into giving.”
-Mother Teresa

Gifts, no matter how big or small, act as a reminder of love and the simple fact that the giver was thinking of you.

Here are a few things that I brought back from the USA to give as gifts to family and friends.

↑ A Swiss Army Knife with 10 tools (From my Dad)
↑ Antique Wooden Inlay Box

↑ Hand Painted Black Ceramic Jar (From my Nonny)
↑ Antique Ceramic Dish with Gold Accents and Painted Flowers
↑ Small Antique Leaf Shaped Dish with Gold Detail and Floral Pattern
↑ Antique Ceramic Bowl with Woven Design and Gold Details

My Sisters
↑ Gem Bracelet from Charming Charlie
↑ Lindt “Hello My Name is Strawberry Cheesecake” Chocolate Sticks (From my Mom)
↑ “S” Initial Charm Necklace from Charming Charlie
↑ Burlap Pouch Set with Travel/Mail Design (From my Gram)
↑ EOS Hand Lotion and Lip Balm

The Kids
(Little brother, Nephews & Niece)
↑ Nike Team USA Black & White Flag Tee, OshKosh USA Tee and Goodlad Flag Onesie
↑ Heart and Spiral Lollypops from Candy Kitchen

My Friends
↑ Antique Milk Glass – Spiral Vase and 3 Section Dish
↑ Antique Hand Painted Card Case with Flowers and Birds

Gifts just need to be thoughtful. Think about the person that you are giving the gift to. What is going to make them smile. What might they enjoy. What is going to be beautiful or even useful or even delicious to them.

It is an amazing feeling to see the look on someones face when they open a gift that you have specifically chosen for them.
It is even more amazing to see them enjoy it.

Remember, even the smallest of gifts (like a simple smile) make life more wonderful.

الحمد لله‎

  1. I am amazed that you could manage to bring all of these things back to KSA. SubanAllah ! Nothing was damaged ? Please let us know how you did ? Any tips on protecting items ?

    • I have been told that I am a master at packing :P.
I wrapped the ceramics and glass items in newspaper and then wrapped items of clothes around them and made sure that they were in the center of the luggage. Alhamdulillah nothing broke. (It is not the first times that I have traveled successfully with delicate items).
