5 times a day

5 times a day, every single day,  you will hear the athan أَذَان‎ or call to prayer from nearly every direction.
Muslims perform obligatory prayers 5 times each day.

For example, today’s prayer times were:
فجر Fajr:  5:11 AM
Dhuhr: 12:08 PM
عصرAsr: 3:21 PM
Maghrib: 5:45 PM
Isha: 7:15 PM

At each of these times you will hear the following words echoing beautifully from each mosque.

God is greatest, God is greatest (x2)
I bear witness that there is no deity but God. (x2)
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God. (x2)
Hasten to worship (x2)
Hasten to success (x2)
God is greatest (x2)
There is no deity but God.
(At the morning prayer you will hear an extra line that says prayer is better than sleep)
If you have never heard the Islamic call to prayer take a minute to listen:

The athan is not only a call prayer, but also a beautiful reminder of God.
I love hearing the athan here.
It is a blessing.
