Weekend Meeting with N

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

I know you all are probably sitting there thinking about how 90% of my posts are about food, but seriously…everything is so fantastic here. I wish that I could send you all a sample platter by email.

N came for a visit last night and brought grilled chicken and rice from the restaurant Al Romansiah that I talked about in a past post. Yes, that is nearly a whole chicken and probably 3-4 cups of rice. I’ll admit that I finished 1 half of the chicken and ate at least 1 full plate of rice.

We also had a cup of this delicious lamb soup (which looked an awful lot like spaghetti o’s, but tasted absolutely divine). It seemed to be a tomato type base with ground lamb and a few strings of spaghetti. It was great alone and also mixed in with the rice.

There was also a cream, a type of hot sauce and many slices of lemon to go along with our dinner.

After dinner we let our food digest for a couple of hours and then we enjoyed Arabic coffee with some sweets. A couple hours after that I made tea and we finished half a package of tea biscuits (which we decided are basically an adult form of the animal crackers that we used to eat as kids.)

“All you need is love, but a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.”

“Seize the moment. Remember all those women on the ‘Titanic’ who waved off the dessert cart.”
– Erma Bombeck

Alhamdullah (thank God) for good friends and good food!
