بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
a.k.a. Bucky (Because my Mother and Grandmother couldn’t pronounce Abu Athan)
I haven’t posted for a few days because my sweet 1 1/2 year old Holland lop bunny passed away last week (10/02/13).
He was not a very healthy bun. He had a malocclusion or misaligned teeth, which meant that every few weeks he needed to have his teeth trimmed (a bunny’s teeth grow constantly and are usually naturally filed while they eat and chew). He also had digestive issues and had been on two types of antibiotics that just finished a few weeks ago.
In the evening I go to the bunny room to give them some food, fresh hay and water. I walked down the stairs, looked around, called his name and didn’t see any sign of him. When I stepped off the last step of the stairs, for some reason I felt the need to look under that step. I saw my small bunny laying on his side. Usually he is very sensitive to noise and will move instantly, but he didn’t. I reached down and touched his foot, but he didn’t move. I couldn’t believe it…
All I can say is that I hope that I gave him a good life while he was around and in sha Allah I continue to take good care of his brother, my other bunny.
